Summary:
The Clear Creek Health Assistance Team (CCHAT) comprises a Community Paramedic and a Behavioral Health Co-responder Clinician.
The team operates within the 911 system and Community Integrated Healthcare Service (CIHCS) to reduce the detriments of a mental or behavioral health crisis and providing support to other vulnerable populations in Clear Creek County.
The team responds to appropriately screened 911 calls to provide trauma-informed, client centered responses to individuals in crisis.
The team also partners with local Law Enforcement (LE) agencies to respond to crisis calls for service that require an LE presence.
CCHAT response includes welfare checks, trespassing, suicidal parties, and other appropriate call types.
To help reduce the reliance on emergency services, the CCHAT team also receives after-hours referrals from EMS/Fire/LE/Community Partners and provides follow-up care through CIHCS enrollment and/or resource navigation utilizing local and regional resources.
CIHCS services may also include general medical assistance based on individual consumer need.
The community/911 paramedic will also respond to 911 calls in an ambulance.
PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing, non-emergent medical care and resource navigation in accordance with CCHAT protocols Respond to mental health-related 911 referrals and provide crisis de-escalation and on-scene medical, risk, and needs assessments to identify problems and appropriate interventions such as mental health holds, safety planning, and immediate resource navigation.
Provide ongoing resource navigation in the days and weeks following a client contact.
Assist the Behavioral Health Clinician by providing medical assessments when disposition decisions are being made while responding to mental health-related calls.
CCHAT team provides secure transportation for mental health holds for appropriate cases.
Provide emergency medical care to the sick and injured.
Coordinate medication/medical and social needs of clients with psychiatrists, nurses, and other medical sources as part of crisis resolution and CIHCS.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with standards.
Participate in team/department meetings and trainings.
Maintain trauma-informed environment of wellbeing Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Current Paramedic Licensure and Community Paramedic endorsement with the state of Colorado within one year of hire.
Critical Care Endorsement with the state of Colorado within one year of hire Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Community Paramedic Endorsement with the state of Colorado within one year of hire.
Knowledge of the scope of practice and role of a Community Paramedic per the state of Colorado.
Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible and on-call hours, which may be required.
Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Typical Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach, drive, and operate standard office equipment such as a phone, computer, facsimile, copier/printer, and other business machines.
Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Typical Mental Demands:
Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.
Work Conditions:
This position may require evening and weekend hours.
Some local travel for prescheduled visits and Safe Transport to local Detox/Mental Health facilities.
I will ride with a licensed crisis clinician working with Clear Creek EMS in response to mental health-related calls and CIHCS visits.
Due to the nature of the 911 response, this position will be considered an essential service and require travel and response in inclement weather conditions.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
